Terms of service
These terms apply to Content Lab, a private application that Tom Plumpton (“the owner”) runs on his own computer for his YouTube channel, Loop Mechanics, and to this information website.
Personal use only
Content Lab is built and operated by the owner for his own use. It is not offered as a service to the public. Only the owner is permitted to sign in to Content Lab or connect a YouTube channel to it, and only with an account and channel he manages. Nobody else may attempt to access the application, its Google sign-in or its data.
YouTube Terms of Service
Content Lab uses the YouTube API Services. By using Content Lab, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of your information is described in the Google Privacy Policy, and Content Lab's in its own privacy policy.
Content and rights
The owner is responsible for every video, title, description, music credit and other material that Content Lab prepares or publishes. Before anything is published, the owner reviews and approves it. The owner is responsible for holding the rights and licences needed for that material, including any music, and for making sure it complies with the policies of YouTube and of any other platform it is posted to.
Services Content Lab relies on
Content Lab depends on services it does not control: Google's YouTube Data API and YouTube Analytics API, and Zernio, which publishes approved videos to YouTube. Their use is governed by their own terms, including the YouTube Terms of Service and Zernio's terms of service. Those services can change, limit, delay or withdraw features, reject or remove content, or revoke access, and Content Lab may stop working as a result.
Limitations
- Content Lab is personal software without a guarantee that it will be available, accurate or free of errors.
- Analytics are copied from YouTube Analytics when requested. They can lag, be revised by YouTube or be incomplete, and YouTube's own figures take precedence.
- Publishing can be delayed or fail. Content Lab keeps records of each attempt so that an uncertain attempt is checked rather than repeated.
This information website
This website provides information about Content Lab and its policies. It does not provide access to the application. You may read and link to it.
Changes
These terms may be updated if Content Lab changes. The date at the top shows when they last changed.
